We were watching it (Modern Family) this week and the show immediately began with the different family members. You have at least three different households, four generations and they’re on the phone with each other. Ones asking why are you not at this kids recital or something?

Everybody she calls they all lie. Just bald face lie. No hesitation. Just absolutely, not twisting the truth or making an excuse full on pathological lying. I’m like man they did it again. It’s becoming a common trope that these characters are just terrible liars. In the sitcom, in this fantasy, they get caught and there’s an awkward moment that’s played for a laugh and everything goes back to normal. Because it’s a sitcom.
