Dwelling Place of God: Climbing the Hill of God; Mark 9:2-13
In an exploring the Transfiguration (and Jesus’ instructions before this awesome scene), it becomes apparent that Jesus’ glory and his death are inextricably bound. Often, like Peter, we can get in the way of the Kingdom’s progress. The mountain of Transfiguration was not Jesus’ final destination in his earthly ministry; rather, the hill of Calvary was. God’s love for and relationship with humans became incarnate in Jesus Christ, who lived a life of sacrifice, and called those who would follow him to do the same.
