In this video, we take a look at an archaeological discovery: an inscription discovered at Deir ‘Alla, located in modern-day Jordan. This inscription talks about a man named “Balaam, son of Beor,” a character who is mentioned in the Bible, in Numbers 22-24. We then delve into the Balaam saga, look at other depictions of him in the Bible (including his relationship, or lack thereof, to Numbers 25), and discuss a few takeaways from both the archaeological find and the Biblical character.
